Quest log
Main and side quests.
Main quests
- XBOX
The Red Ring of Death
- The challenge
- Xbox 360 hardware failures became the platform's biggest crisis, with escalations reaching the CEO.
- What I did
- Led the global support response and built repair and returns operations at a scale Microsoft had never run.
- Result
- Built an online repair site in nine months that deflected millions of customer service and support calls.
- EXPEDIA · 2020–2025
The collapse and the rebuild
- The challenge
- When travel stopped in 2020, 100% of campaigns were paused or cancelled while the world waited.
- What I did
- Led the team through partner engagement, kept campaigns ready to restart, and kept a major platform migration on track mid-crisis.
- Result
- Helped grow the business to four times its 2020 low while reducing people cost as a share of revenue by 30%.
- EXPEDIA · 2017–2022
A bench from zero
- The challenge
- Moved into advertising with no ad operations background, into an organization with no directors.
- What I did
- Leaned into the existing team and learned from them, held consistent skip-levels with every team member for years, and built career frameworks and recognition programs.
- Result
- A self-managed team led by directors and senior directors: strong professionals and good humans who care about each other.
I learned that the advertising industry is complex, fast-paced, fun and ever-changing.
- EXPEDIA · 2025–2026
AI from pilot to habit
- The challenge
- A conviction that AI knowledge and use would become fundamental, and a global team with varied levels of knowledge and awareness.
- What I did
- Led and learned by example: built AI tools, policies and education; assigned an AI champion and tiger team; prototyped solutions; and partnered to develop scalable production tools for internal teams.
- Result
- Most of the team using AI every day. I kept the habit and now build my own software.
